The Holocaust was a sad time when millions of Jews died. They were sent to death camps, concentration camps, ghettos, etc. You can visit these places today. There are many memorials to those who died in the Holocaust. Here are some stories of the Jews who survived.
Survivor Stories
One survivor is Moshe. He was born in 1920. When WW2 began, he ran away into the woods. There he hid with partisans and pretended to be a partisan too because partisans hates Jews. When the war was over he went back to his village. Sadly, by the time WW2 ended, the Nazis had already killed his family. He was lucky because many people died in the Holocaust.
This is Moshe.
Another survivors story is Solomon Radasky. He is from Warsaw. Out of his 78 family members, he is the only
survivor. During the Holocaust, he lived in the Warsaw ghetto. He was taken to an extermination camp. It could only take 10'000 people a day and there was 20'000 in his group. So he and 10'000 others went to another one. He survived there and was later transferred to Auschwitz. He was going to work in a coal mine Auschwitz. Then he learned the longest person to survive that job was 2 weeks. So instead he got a job covering the ashes of the dead. One horrible thing he saw was live kids being thrown into the crematoria to be cremated (Burned). He was taken away again and went to another concentration camp. Finally the Americans came and he was free! Solomon Radasky in a concentration camp.
